Essay 1-02b: Baseball

I had to post this essay in May. This is overdue. However, I post it because I think that not doing is worse than overdue.


I will write about baseball. I like baseball very much. Baseball is most interesting sport, I think.

I like to play baseball. I belonged to baseball club when I was an elementary school student. I often practiced baseball after school. I had belonged to the club for three years. It was so interesting. I played some positions at the club. In four grade, I played short. In five grade, I played the outfield; a right fielder, a left fielder and a center fielder. I was substitute player in six grade, because I didn't practice hard. However, the baseball club is my good memory now.

I like to watch baseball game, too. I sometimes watch professional baseball game on TV. My favorite teams are Hiroshima Toyo Carp and Fukuoka Softbank Hawks. Carp is a backbone team in central league. Carp is rank 5 now. I want Carp to go up rank 3, because above rank 3 team can enter a climax series. Hawks is strong team in pacific league, but Hawks is in a slump now. Hawks is rank 4 now. Kawasaki took part in world baseball classic. This is the largest baseball mass meeting in the world. Japan team won two games straight. In other words, Japanese baseball is strongest in the world. This is great thing, I think. I am proud of this fact as Japanese! At this mass meeting, Ichiro was great. He was in a slump, but he played an active role at the final game. Baseball is my favorite sport. I want to watch koushien in Osaka in next my summer vacation!
