Before last year, I don’t like writing English. Because of I couldn’t write good sentence and I didn’t know enough English words to write good sentence. However, I had to many English sentences on this class. First, I couldn’t sentence well. In addition, I needed huge time to write sentence. I disliked writing. I changed my way of thinking. When I don’t know English word. I look over it. If I want to write better sentence, I write things that I want to write. They are natural things, but I couldn’t do them. Now, I can do them, so they were correct for me, I think. In fact, I can write English sentence better than before.

I wrote lots of kind of sentences on my blog. My favorite series was free writing, ‘A Memory of Touring’. My hobby is going out by my motorcycle. In this series, I wrote about my touring with photographs I took. I made tag of ‘motorcycle’, and there are many sentences that belong to this tag. It is the result of writing sentences I want to. When I wrote these sentences, I look back on them with nostalgia. I have many other memories of touring. I wanted to write them, but I didn’t have enough time…

In last year, my ability of writing English sentences was not enough. In fact, my sentences in 1^st semester were not good. For example, my first book review was bad. The sentence doesn’t have paragraph, and it is only 58 words. However, my ability of writing was developed through this class. I can see process of developing on my blog. For example, essays, typing homework, book review, and free writing. All of them are much better. However, I want to develop more. I want to continue to make efforts of developing writing ability.

A memory of Touring ~Gokanosho and Itsuki village~

In August, I went to Gokanosho and Itsuki villlage by my motorcycle, CBR125R.

First, I climbed Nihonsugi pass from Misato town. When we go to Nihonsugi pass, we have to trough R445. This road is said the second worst national road in Kyusyu. In fact, the surface of road was bad, and the road was narrow. However, we could command a panoramic view of the Kumamoto Plain.

Second, I went to Mimiki. Momiki has two suspension bridge. I crossed these two bridges. The air was so cool, so I felt good. Next, I went to Kureko. There was Kureko-kodaino-sato at Kureko. I took a rest there.

After that, I drove on a road through a forest. This road led to Asagiri from Kureko. It through the heart of a mountain. I couldn't see mountain else. Near Asagiri on this road, I could command a panoramic view of the Hitoyoshi basin.

I drove on R445 from Asagiri to Itsuki. At Itsuki, I took a rest at a station for road, Itsuki. I went home through Otori pass and R3. I like to drivig winding road. I could had a good and cool time on the mountain!

A memory of Touring ~Shimabara and Hirado~

In July, I went to Shimabara and Hirado by my motorcycle. In my plan, I had to leave home in early morning. However, I overslept... I waked up at 11:30 a.m. I was at a loss whether to go or not. In conclusion, I left home at 12:30 p.m.

First, I went to Kumamoto port, and I ride ferry, Ocean arrow which go to Shimabara port. On the ferry, I noticed to forget a degital camera. Oh my god! I climbed Mt. Unzen at a quick pace. On Nita pass, the weather was not good, so I couldn't good sight... When I come here, the weather always is bad. I drove to Isahaya I.C of high way, and I drove on Nagasaki high way. I took a rest at Omura bay servise area. I ate softcream which tasted loquat. It was very delicious. After that, I drove to Hirado.

At Hirado, the weather was bad, too. I went to Sendai pass, but I couldn't good view. I also wanted to go Ikitsuki island, but it started to rain... I gave up going to Ikitsuki island... In addition, it was growing dark. I drove to I.C of high way. On high way, I took rests twice, at Kinryu service area and Hirokawa service area. At Kinryu S.A, I ate a pork cutlet served with egg and onion on top of bowl of rice. It was so delicious. I arrive at home at 10:00 p.m. I was very tired...

A Memory of Touring ~Kami Amakusa~

In September, I went to Kami Amakusa by my motorcycle.

First, I drove on R57 to Misumi west port. I introduced there as 'My Favorite Place' before. The weather was so good! I drank canned coffee. I had good time there.

Second, I went to Mt. Sengan. Top of the mountain, there was view spot. I could see good sight from there. Amakusa has an archipelago, and we can see it from there. There is playground equipment of Totoro. Do you know Totoro? He is very famous and popular character in Japan.

Next, I went to Kyoragi dam. There are nothing to see. If I had to compare it, the design of dam were unique, and I like the road leading to the dam.

After that, I drove on R266. To tell the truth, I wanted to go Mt. Ryugatake and Mt. Kuratake. However, it wasn't enough time to go Mt. Ryugatake and Mt. Kuratake. I found good agricultural road, so I drove on the road. This agricultural road was leading to Chiju. I went home without going to Amakusa. However, I could see good sunset on the way to home.

If you want to Amakusa from Kumamoto, you should leave home in the morning...

Essay 2-03b: University Life

There are a lot of universities in Japan, and I go to Kumamoto Gakuen University which is one of them now. I think that people who want to grow as a human go to university before finding a job. And am I growing as a human at university now? I don't think so. In addition, there are many university student similar to me, I think. How should we have university life?

I am a sophomore now, and I have messy university life. I go to university fourth a week, and I tentatively attend classes. At home, I do only my homework, and I hardly study by myself. I can't find work which I want to do in the future. Certainly, all of the world is so slack, and there are no employment. In addition, I work to earn my school expenses, so I don't have enough time to study hard. However, if there are a lot of employment and an economic recovery, I have messy university life like now. Can I find work which I want to do? I don't think so.

"When you were a student, how do you think about university?" I have asked to my parents. "Only people who wants to study harder and have much money goes to university" they said. They had their aim, and they made an effort. They had many classes, do their assignments completely, studied hard, had neat life, thought about their future seriously... In the old days, university students studies hard and they had enough knowledge to employ. If they come to contemporary university, they can be brilliant student, I think.

World economics sinks to bottom now, so there are no employment. It is not easy for university students. In other words, everything advances good after. Now is worst time for university student. I want to think about 25 years after. I believe that university students can choose their job in the future. If they can choose their job, they think about their future positively and they study harder than now, I think. They have more classes, think about their future more seriously, and they become neat. But only them, it is same to old university students. Times changed.

University student has to change with times, I think. For example, there are no computers in the old days. Today, all students has to use a computer. Now, there are more kind of learning than before, and university student has to learn them. They have to have more classes to know many kind of learning. If they can do it, they can find their work which they want to do easier. Most of university student doesn't have their aim, so they don't understand what should they do. To know many kind of learning help them to find thing they want to do.

In high school, our aim was being accepted by the university. We didn't think of university life, so we lost our aim after passing examination. When we lost our aim, we stop studying. We must study hard at university. University is place to study to grow as a human. Of course, working to earn our school expenses is very important. However, we don't have to make an excuse not to study with it.

A Memory of Touring ~Yamguchi prefecture~

In September, I went to Akiyoshi-dai and Tsuno-shima in Yamaguchi by my motorcycle.

I left home at 3:30 a.m. When we pass I.C till 4:00 a.m., a toll of high way is half price! My motorcycle load ETC, so I payed only half price! First, I went to Akiyoshi-dai. Akiyoshi-dai is famlous for biggest karst in japan. I drove Akiyoshi-dai karst road. It was great road! I could feel so great!

Second, I went to Senjo-ziki. I didn't know it, but I was interested in Senjo-ziki when I found a mark of there. It was so good place. I could feel a feeling of freedom. We can see the Japan sea, the mountainous region of chugoku and a windmill.

Next, I went to hot spa. There were called Kiwado hot spa. We could see the sea from an open-air bath. I feel so good, and I could feel refreshed! After I enjoyed hot spa, I drank coffee milk. It was very delicious!

After that, I went to Tsuno-shima. There is nice bridge. I drove on the bridge, and I landed Tsuno-shima. Tsuno-shima has beautiful sea. I felt a good sea breeze. Soft cream which tasted wakame was sold at shop. I felt unbelievable. I was interested in it, but I couldn't try it...

On the way to home, I took a rest at Koga parking area. I ate niku udon there. It was delicious for me. I drove over 650 kilometers in a day. I was very tired. However, I could see many great sight. I was satisfied with this touring!

A Memory of Touring ~Nichinan coast and Toi cape~

On November 1, I went to Nichinan coast and Toi cape by my motorcycle.

I left home at 6;00. I drove on high way, Matsubase I.C to Miyazaki I.C. First, I went to Horikiri pass. There is a station for roads, Nichinan phoenix. I ate soft cream which tasted shrimp. It was not delicious for me... However, There are so beautiful sight. Onino-sentakuiwa is popular. Do you know it? We can see it at Horikiri pass.

I drove to South along the Pacific ocean. The road is called Nichinan Phoenix Road. It is great road. If you go to Miyazaki, I recmmend driving this road. I found a mark of the park, and I went there. I could see good sea view at there. In addition, there are no people. I could exclude good sea view!

I took a rest at a station for roads, Nangou. I ate katsuo-meshi and soft cream which tasted mango. They were so delicious! We can see good sea view from here. After that, I went to Toi cape. There were great sight and many horses. I like this cape very much, so I have been to Toi cape three times before. Whenever I go to Toi cape, there is beautiful. On the way to Kagoshima prefecture, I saw monkey on the road. There were many wild animals, I knew.

I passed Kushima city and Shibushi city. I wanted to go Sakura-jima, but it was getting dark. I resigned to go there, and I took a rest at a station for roads, Tarumizu. There were hot spa, and I took it. After I enjoyed spa, I drank coffee milk. It was very delicious!

After that, I went home. I arrived at home at 8:30 o'clock. I was tired, but I could very interesting! I want to go there again!

BR 2-18: Sarah's Surprise

I read Sarah's Surprise which is illustrated book written by Rob Waring and Maurice Jamall.

When we read this story, we can understand all stuff of the cafe are fool. 'It is Sarah's first day in the cafe. A man comes into the cafe, takes some food, but does not give any money to Sarah. What does she do?' (back cover of this book)

In conclusion, Sarah called the police, and a police officer came to their cafe. However, a man who takes food was cafe's owner's husband. He come to the cafe to get sandwiches every day. When husband took sandwiches, there are Sarah and another stuff, Ji-Sung. Why didn't he imagine a husband when he heard about an incident from Sarah? I think that Ji-Sung is most stupid person in this story. Cafe's owner and her husband are foot too! The owner should explain a habit of his husband, and a husband should explain his habit. It this cafe all right? I worry about the future of this cafe...

I read The Mess which is illustrated book written by Michael Wargner and Gaston Vanzet.

This is a story about one very messy boy, Jack. 'Mum wanted me to clean up my room. She wanted me to clean it NOW! But how do you clean a room?' (back cover of this book)

O.K. My room is not clean too, but my room is cleaner than Jack's. I don't like clean too, but there aren't strange or dirty things in my room. Why are there lunch in Jack's room? Unbeleavable! If my room is as dirty as Jack's, I can't sleep in my room. How does he spend in his room? I can't understand. I have heard about gomi-yashiki. He has all the makings of make gomi-yashiki. I know my messy character, and I hate dirty place like gomi-yashiki. I don't want to be like Jack, so I want to clean my room...

I read Slam Dunk for Mark which is an illustrated book written by Rob Warring and Maurice Jamall.

This is story about a good young basketball star. 'Mark, the school basketball star, helps his team get in to the finals. Mark lives with his sick grandmother. She needs to go to the doctor on the day of the finals. Is he going to take her to the doctor's, or play in the final?' (back cover of this book)

In conclusion, he took his grandmother to the doctor's. I could understand that he really worry his grandmother. I think that most of people play in the final, because they worry about what other people think. I can't behave like Mark, too. In fact, he was looked coldly by other student and his friend. However, he was really thanked by his grandmother. A grandmother is more precious for him. I want to be like him!

I wonder that people who has a physical disability or being sick has strong spirit. He ran the long road with his artificial leg for sick children. He achieved great thing. I can't do such a thing. Most of people can't do too, I think. I respect him. To our regret, he died on June 28, 1981. I pray his soul may rest in peace.

BR 2-14: The Ghost House

I read an illustrated book written by John Escott.

It is horror story. Rick and his sister, Mia find big old house. Mia thinks that there are ghost in that house. They goes in the big old house to find the ghost. Mia goes up the stairs, and the stairs breaks suddenly. Rick's body is under the stairs. When Mia gets him from under the stairs, some strong hands help Mia! She looks around, but nobody is there. If you want to know about this story more, let's go to the library!

When I was elementary school student, I have found old house and I went in the house. There were no ghost. If you find strange place, you want to go in, don't you? For example, old house, old factory, forest, cave etc... It is funny, I think. If you see ghost, what do you do?

BR 2-13: Noises in the Night

I read an illustrated book written by Carmel Reilly.

I borrowed this book from library. When I borrowed this book, I thought that the story of this book is kind of horror. However, it isn't horror. Jess who is heroine in this story read a book in her room at night. She hear the noise, and she sees something outside the window. What was that!? If you want to know more, please read this book.

I have had similar experience. When I stayed up in my room at night, I heard the noise. I didn't know what was that noise. If I hear the noise at night, I am worried by the noise. At night, we feel that the noises more noisy than daytime's. Be quiet at night!

New Year's Resolutions

My favorite comic book is Crayon-shinchan which is written by Yoshito Usui. I think that most of Japanese knows Crayon-shinchan. It is one of most popular and famous comic in Japan. It is very funny story. I think that I don't need to explain about crayon-shinchan. However, many people misunderstand about Crayon-shinchan. Many people think that Crayon-shichan is comic for child, but it is comic for adult. Do you know it? I have read a complete set of comic book. Of course, my favorite character is Shinnosuke, but I like other characters, too. My favorite high school memory

My favorite high school memory is touring by motorcycle with my friends. I went to Nichinan coast in Miyazaki with my friends twice. First time, we went there when we were 2nd grade at high school. The weather was so good. We went Ebino, Kirishima, Sakura-jima, Toi cape and Nichinan coast. We could see great sights. However, it was a day trip, so we didn't have enough time. Second time, we went Takachiho, Nobeoka, Hyuga, Nichinan coast, Toi cape and Sakura-jima when we were third grade at high school. This time, we stayed at a campsite in Nichinan, so we had enough time. However, the weather was so bad. We couldn't see good sight. We were very tired, but it is good memory now.

I like watches very much. My favorite watches are SPEED MASTER and DAYTONA. SPEED MASTER is made by OMEGA. SPEED MASTER is most popular watch at OMEGA. It is chronograph. I like black one, but I don't have enough money to buy it. DAYTONA is made by ROLEX. It is very expensive. Of course, I can't buy it.
I have a watch which is made by SEIKO. Its dial is chronograph and the color is black and white. I like it. I bought it one and half year ago. I want to use my watch long time, but I want automatic watch.By the way, my brother has nice watch. It is TAG Heuer, CARRERA. Dial is chronograph and its color is black. It is very cool.

My favorite train

I like vehicles, and I also like train. My favorite train is series 500 which is fastest bullet train. Series 500 runs at 300km/h. It is fastest in Japan. The shape is so cool. It is like racing car of Formula-1. I have ridden this bullet train twice. In train, it is little narrow and not comfortable. I have ride series 700 some times, and it is much more comfortable than series 500. However, series 700 runs at 285km/h, and I like the shape of series 500 better than series 700's.Next March, Kyushu-shinkansen has been started. Train which is called Sakura will run between Shin-Osaka and Kagoshima-chuo. I'm looking for it. I want to ride it earlier.
